Is it already April?

3 months?? 3 MONTHS!?

Yep, that's the last time I posted a blog.

Well, quite a bit has happened in that time, as you can imagine!

I hope to keep up with this a little better.

In the meantime, please enjoy what I've remembered in the past few months!

Happy Anniversary!

Six years ago today it was a beautiful spring day. The sun was shining, the birds and butterflies were out. My family and friends were all gathered together.  I walked into the temple as a bride-to-be and walked out as a wife. Six years ago today I married Gabriel Gross.

I LOVE going through our wedding pictures each year on our anniversary!

Here are some of our engagement pictures. I absolutely love all of our pictures that were taken in this shoot.  We were lucky enough to have been working for a photography studio at the time while also near the California beaches.

Oh my gosh! Don't we just look like kids??

6 years, 2 kids, 1 dog, 3 houses, 6 jobs, 1 university. Whew! Can't wait to see what the next 6 years will bring! (With many many more to come after that, of course!)

I feel we have been very blessed with our lives that we have chosen together, Gabriel Gross! I'm glad you chose me.

Day at the Park

We recently spent the day in Lake Charles and while we were there, we took the boys to the park. they both had a blast! The park was super nice and clean.

Dez and Aunt Mikah being their silly selves.

Sliding was his favorite.

Dez didn't want to stop for too long, even to take a picture. Thus, the weird face.

Pickin flowers.

Just happy to be outside.

Dax loves the outdoors, too!

Dax loooooooves grass! He rolled around in it, laid in it, and rested his head on it.

Brothers

Oh, Dez and Dax.

They really are great.

Such good brothers.

They never get jealous of the other, always seem to get along, and really enjoy each other's company.

I hope they'll stay like this for a while because it's very sweet to watch them growing up together in such a nice and pleasant and playful way.

Things about Dez

1. Dez has been sick for the past 2 and a half months. No lie.

2. He's been to the Dr and ER a total of 5 times since January.

3. It's nothing serious. Just a cold that has turned into an infection, an earache, and swollen throat that his body just can't seem to kick.

4. He still loves poop. All the things poop.

5.  HIs little personality is really starting to show. He's definitely a comedian. He says the funniest things and loves to make everyone laugh!

6. He just got a brand new, awesome swing set (Thanks Granny!!). He loves loves loves it!

7. While I was swinging on the swings with him yesterday he tells me, "Uh. Momma. Your butt is too big to sit there."  Oh. Ok then.

8. Dez is an excellent helper.  He knows when I get into cleaning mode and immediately goes to get the broom to help me sweep. His new favorite is to spray the Windex for me.

9. Buster has started taking gymnastics! It's his first class that he's ever taken and done by himself. I'm already so proud! He really seems to enjoy it!

Things about Dax

1. Dax is 8 months old!! Yikes! Where did the time go?

2. Dax had been crawling officially now for about a month. That boy is all over the place! His favorite places to go are Dez's room and the bathroom.

3. He's also pulling up on everything any chance he gets!

4. He's eating real solid foods. His favorites are bananas, grapes, avocados, and crackers.

5. Holy cow, is he picky though. He knows when he's being given vegetables rather than fruit and isn't afraid to tell you he disapproves.

6. Dax looooooooooves his big brother. He follows him wherever he goes, laughs at all the funny things he does, watches him wherever he walks or runs, and smiles really big when he sees him coming.

7. He's also a momma's boy, but that was a given. :)

8. Still no teeth, but they are riiiiiiiight there! Any day now....!

9. His favorite toys are empty water jugs and mirrors.

I just Love this happy little boy!

New Neighbors

We have some pretty crazy neighbors.

So I was pretty thrilled to see a new addition move in.

That's right! Right on our front porch! In our chiminea!

Good thing it got hot enough to make our chiminea useless.

It was so neat to watch both Momma and Daddy bird making their nest, bringing in pine straws and twigs.

Now, a couple of months later, it's equally as neat to see both Momma and Daddy birds bringing their babies fat worms. We hear them every morning chirping away waiting for their meal to arrive.

Camping

The weather back in January was a little sketchy. One day it was cold, then the very next day is was hot enough to wear shorts! Then the day after that it was back to wearing sweaters.

We finally got some cooler, milder weather and decided it was the perfect setting for camping......

...in our backyard!

We invited some friends over, roasted hot dogs over an open fire, toasted marshmallows for s'mores and used up the last of the New Year's sparklers.

Dez had gotten a brand new, just his size sleeping bag for Christmas and was thrilled to finally get to use it!

So up the tent went!

Here are some photos summarizing our night:

Ah, such a gourmet meal.

Dez also got a walking stick for Christmas. According to him, it was absolutely necessary for it to accompany him at all times during the campout.

LOVE sparkler pictures!

I don't think Dez did much sleeping in his own sleeping bag that night. In fact, I'm pretty sure Gabe froze all night making sure that Dez was always covered up, usually with his own sleeping bag and blankets. But I don't think Dez minded one bit. He keeps asking when we can go camping again.

Happy Birthday, Gabe!

Gabe celebrated his 27th birthday this year! Happy birthday to you!

Gabe allowed Desmond to choose what his cake would look like.  Not a very good idea. Apparently 3 year olds think alot about poop and toilets. Thus, here's how the birthday cake turned out:

Desmond even added all the M&Ms on top, including the one that is supposed to represent the poop coming out of Perry's bottom.

Happy Birthday, Husband!
