"Yes" Day

A couple of Saturdays ago we were all in the car driving to Desmond's soccer game.

Husband turns to me and, out of nowhere, says, "Today is your yes day."

What? Uhh ok? What does that mean?

Well, he says, it means that anything I ask him for this one day he MUST say yes to.

Holy awesome. This day just got ahhhhmaaazzzing!!

Oh, I had the best day EVER!!

Gabe, can we go to Target after the game?

Gabe, can I get these shorts? And this shirt, it goes with the shorts. I probably need to ask you about these pants too.

Can you make me a sandwich for lunch?

Can I take an uninterrupted nap for 2 HOURS?

Will you change Dax's diaper? He smells really bad.

It might not sound like much to you, but this day was exactly what I needed. I got to ask for help, ask for favors, ask for anything, all without feeling guilty about asking.

I ended up going out to eat (with Gabe of course) to my favorite restaurant that I picked without hesitation. I got to pick out what show we watched after the boys went to bed and even got an hour massage.

It was so relaxing.

And, the best part about all of this? Husband never once flinched, or complained. Never even rolled his eyes! He actually said yes happily to any question or request I had for him.

And, it was all his own idea.

Love him.

So keep in mind the next time you want to truly please and show your spouse you genuinely love him/her, give them a "yes" day. It makes all the difference in the world!

(Although...I'm kinda scared about Gabe's "Yes" day. Who knows what he'll ask me to do! He has quite the creative mind!)
